THE CHARACTER FULL NAME: Tess Mercer; formerly Lutessa Lena Luthor SERIES/FANDOM: Smallville AGE: 32 GENDER: Female SPECIES: Human SEXUALITY: Heterosexual ALIGNMENT: Clark Kent PERSONALITY: Tess is the ultimate poster child for the song, Sweet Dreams, having been used, abused, and betrayed by loved ones her entire life. She has had to force herself to become a strong, independent, and fierce woman through hard work and keeping herself from being too close to most others, or trusting too strongly. She has strong conviction, and cares deeply for the Earth and nature, a conviction which nearly led to Earth's downfall when she wrongly believed that Major Zod may be the key to saving her planet. She works to always be on equal terms with partners, whether it be in business interactions or personal. Tess is very Machiavellian, in that she will sacrifice whatever it takes (including herself) for the greater good. She is more than capable of great violence when necessary, but through her friendship with Clark, she has become far more merciful in her actions, culminating in erasing her half brother's horrible memories, when he in turn killed her. She respects strength and power, and admires those who have it. While she presents a cold exterior, when she is alone she sometimes breaks down. Thanks to Clark's influence, Tess is no longer quite as ruthless as she used to be, and is far more likely to go for the hurt rather than the kill. ABILITIES: Tess doesn't have any specific powers, but she is manipulative, able to read people, and extremely skilled at hand to hand combat and kickboxing. She has a degree in marine biology and is well-versed in culture, literature, and history. WEAKNESSES: Her main weakness is her emotions, and thus she is also weak in that she refuses to show them to others often. Tess's only other weakness is Conner Kent. CANON POINT: Post Finale Part 2, 10x22 WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER CAUGHT THE EYE OF THE COLLECTOR?: Tess has lost her life on multiple occasions in her fight to save Earth, even though she has often been misguided. THIRD-PERSON RPG SAMPLE: He wouldn't remember any of it. Not the things he'd done, the monster he'd become. Not their father, and not her. But that didn't matter. He would no longer be the cruel and misguided product of a sadistic father. Tess's eyes closed slowly on that thought, and she began to let herself drift, not fighting it. She had done all she could - Clark had finally fully accepted his destiny, Chloe had again taken charge of Watchtower, and Lois would someday have her happy ending wedding. And Oliver....well, he would hopefully find his own redemption now, as well. She didn't fight dying because this time, she was finished, and she had done what she had set out to do, just not in the manner she had originally planned. She had destroyed Lex Luthor without even killing him. Sensation returned slowly, followed by sound, and, confused, Tess's eyes slowly slid open, focusing on...the sky. Lex was gone, her office was gone, and none of it made any sense. Sitting up slowly, she winced in anticipation of her wound, then blinked and looked down when she realized there was no pain. Her clothes were still bloody, but when she tugged up her blouse, she saw no knife wound. No scar. Just blood. Standing, she wondered if somehow Clark had saved her, or Oliver - even Chloe, maybe. Unsteady, she walked towards the mouth of the alley she'd been laying in, and stared around her. She was in a city, but not Metropolis. Spotting a paper stand, Tess walked over and lifted the paper on top with a frown. Lawrence, Kansas? How the hell had she wound up there...and lost a month?
